Security: key in the city of Barcelona

More and more festivals and entertainment venues are betting on an automatic capacity control system, although it is not mandatory by law. Legislation about capacity control is not state-wide but autonomous. In Catalonia, the capacity control is regulated by the decree 112/2010, of August 31th, by means of which the Regulation of public spectacles and recreational activities is approved. However, in the general regulation that regulates the aforementioned law there is a transitory provision that states that “The establishments that have the obligation to have an automatic gauging control system have a term of 3 years, starting from the publication of the regulation of this system, to install it and put it into operation“.

But Barcelona is very clear that safety is the number one priority in terms of organizing events and therefore advances to current legislation and requires an automatic system in many of the events held in its facilities.
